Maison Verte is a beautifully furnished 'maison bourgeoise' located in the heart of the village of Puisserguier, close to Beziers and the Mediterranean coast. Inside, the house is very spacious and comes with 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, a recently refurbished kitchen and large living room. Outside the house provides a lovely terrace with patio furniture, a swimming pool, a sun lounge (perfect for catching winter sun) and private parking.
The house is available to rent long term between October to May from €1,200 per month + bills.

The house is close to the heart of the village. The house is laid out over 3 floors.
Ground floor
The entrance hall provides access to the living room, dining room and kitchen.
- The living room comes with an original fireplace, 2 sofas, a TV and various occasional tables and chairs, sculptures and artwork.
- The kitchen has been recently refurbished and is fitted with an oven, hob, dishwasher, large fridge-freezer, microwave and plenty of cooking utensils. The house is equipped with a full set of plates, glasses and cutlery. The kitchen leads out to the sun lounge
- The dining room is a beautiful room with an ornate lamp fitting, marble fireplace and antique display cabinets. The dining table can comfortably seat 6 people.
- The sun lounge is an enclosed terrace which is furnished with lounge furniture and a table for al-fresco dining. This is a great space for enjoying some winter sun in the South of France.
First floor
- The Master bedroom features a Queen-size double bed, original marble fireplace and antique wardrobe. The bedroom is fitted with air conditioning. The en-suite bathroom comes with a shower, WC and wash basin.
- Bedroom 2 features a Queen-size double bed, fireplace and antique wardrobe. The bedroom is fitted with air conditioning.
- Bathroom 2 has double sinks, a walk-in shower and WC.
Second floor
- Bedroom 3 is fitted with twin beds.

Outside
There is a small garden with mature trees, accessed from the sun lounge. The garden leads onto the swimming pool area.
There is a lovely swimming pool surrounded by old stone walls and Mediterranean plants and trees. The pool is normally open from April to late-September. There are sun loungers, easy chairs and a BBQ.
There is private parking (accessed via a side street).

Maison Verte house is available to rent between October to May. In addition to the rent, there is a monthly provision of €250-350 (depending on the season) to contribute towards the electricity, water, Wi-Fi and heating. The minimum stay is usually 3 months.

Maison Verte house to rent long term in South France - Our Opinion
Last visited: July 2025. This beautiful house to rent in Puisserguier, is the perfect base for a long stay in the South of France. The Mediterranean beaches are just 25 mins away and the city of Beziers is on your doorstep. Just a short 2 mins walk takes you to a boulangerie, shops, cafes and a small supermarket. Puisserguier is well-located for exploring the South of France, providing easy access to the A9 motorway, the TGV train station at Beziers and 5 local airports within 1 hour drive.

Area activities
Puisserguier is a large village of around 3,000 people which dates back to around 1,000 AD. The old heart of the village features a circular maze of streets (common with a lot of villages in the Languedoc). The village is very well equipped, with a small supermarket, 2 boulangeries, a butcher, hair dressers, a beautician, a mechanic's garage, a vet, a bank and a petrol station. A weekly market is held in the village every Friday morning on the tree-lined esplanade.
Puisserguier has traditionally been a wine-making village and today it is still surrounded by vineyards and many wine-makers continue to make wine.
Beziers is a great area for a long term let. It is located close to the Mediterranean beaches, it has fantastic transport connections, great shops and over 2000 years of history to explore. Beziers has historically been the capital of the Languedoc wine industry and the local area is dominated by vineyards.
The region has some wonderful old towns to visit such as Carcassonne, Toulouse and Montpellier; and you are just around an hour's drive from Spain, so you can pop across the border. Further inland you will find the beautiful Haut Languedoc Regional Park, which offers plenty of forests, lakes, canyons, gorges and mountains to explore.

There is a TGV train station in the centre of Beziers, with regular services to Paris, Barcelona, Toulouse and Marseille.
